Katarzyna Dulewicz is a partner, Head of Employment and Head of Commercial and Regulatory at CMS Poland.  She also co-ordinates the CMS Employment practice throughout Central and Eastern Europe.

Katarzyna specialises in employment and commercial law issues. On a day-to-day basis, she provides a wide range of legal advice on all aspects of employment law. She advises on restructuring employment, executive recruitment and termination, incentive compensation programmes, trade unions, work councils issues and internal investigations. Katarzyna also has broad experience in advising on all aspects of employment law in connection with capital transactions (transfers of employees).

International legal directories Chambers and Legal 500 recommend Katarzyna as a top specialist in the field of employment law and employee benefits. She regularly comments on issues related to employment law in the press, on television and in specialist literature.

Relevant experience

  • A wide range of clients on employment law matters relating to cross-border mergers and acquisitions, transfers of ownership of undertaking, transfers of employees and strategic planning with different employment structures, including shared employment and the leasing of employees. Clients include: PZ Cussons, IPF International, AIG, MetLife, Amgen, Ametek, RWE, Sygma Bank.
  • Trade unions / Work Councils / Collective Bargaining Agreements on the establishment of European works councils, preparing international strategy on handling labour relations in the organisation and on-going help in legitimate areas of concern of the trade unions and its officials. Also assisting in negotiations with unions on employee guarantee pack and other social benefits in relation to the privatisation process. Clients: TJX, CVC Capital Partners, MidEuropa Partners, Sygma Bank, Covidien.
  • A global biopharmaceutical company on contentious employment matters which require delicate handling.
  • YUM! in relation to handling discrimination claims which are not often successful in Poland but are regularly used by employees to bring pressure on employers. These cases require a sensitive approach and extensive legal experience. 
  • Axel Springer AG, DSG Canusa, Suruga and Mitsui in relation to key management and staff terminations including drafting termination documents and assisting in termination meetings.
  • Chevron, BNK Petroleum and ConocoPhillips on comprehensive immigration consultancy, including expats transfers and secondments, as well as social insurance aspects.
  • Various clients on the regulations on company social benefit fund, assisting in negotiations in a collective dispute regarding extending compensation and benefits scheme resulting from the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Various clients on health and safety policies in relation of new collective agreements.
