CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut promotes "Rui Pena - Energy Law" award

CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut, in partnership with ECO/Advocatus, promotes the "Rui Pena - Energy Law" award.

Created in 2018, the award's main goal is to promote research and study in the field of Energy Law, including the sectors of electricity, gas, oil, renewable energy, as well as matters related to regulation. The Rui Pena Award - Energy Law consists of an international scholarship or an internship and it aims to distinguish the best legal works in these areas, created by students of undergraduate, masters, doctoral and postgraduate courses.

According to Mónica Carneiro Pacheco, Partner at CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut “this is a very special initiative of the Firm, not only for paying homage to its Founder, but also for betting on an area of great legal and business importance, both from a national perspective, as well as international. Since his creation that registrations are quite high and we expect it remains the same. Being able to contribute to the awakening of the interest in an area as rich as Energy is something we are very proud of”.

Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2020 and will be evaluated by a jury made up of Mónica Carneiro Pacheco, Carla Amado Gomes and Vítor Santos. The winner of the Rui Pena Prize - Energy Law will be known and honoured at a public ceremony in September 2020.
