Lebogang is a Director in the Corporate and Commercial practice at CMS South Africa. She began her career in one of Africa’s largest law firms, after which she worked in other internationally recognised law firms prior to joining CMS South Africa. 

She has immense experience in advising on complex cross-border corporate / M&A transactions, corporate restructurings and general commercial matters across various sectors (both private and public transactions) including private equity, telecommunications, energy and natural resources, infrastructure, financial services and consumer goods. 

Lebogang has acted for domestic and multinational clients (both listed and unlisted) in diverse sectors and industries. She regularly conducts and project-manages legal due diligence investigations, assists multinational clients to establish presence in South Africa and the rest of Africa (including assisting with the rolling out of various products and solutions), negotiates and drafts bespoke commercial agreements and provides regulatory advice across various sectors.

  • PPF, A.S. and Vox Ventures B.V. – in relation to its acquisition of a Leopard Catamarans builder, Robertson and Caine, with a transaction value of approximately ZAR 1 billion.
  • Pan African Resources – in relation to its ZAR 50 million acquisition of Mintails Mining SA’s Mogale Gold and Mintails SA Soweto Cluster.
  • Vumatel Proprietary Limited and Community Investment Ventures Holdings - in the acquisition of a majority stake in Hero Telecoms, with a transaction value of over ZAR 4 billion.
  • Barloworld Limited - in relation to the disposal of its motor retail business to NMI Durban South Motors Proprietary Limited with a transaction value of over ZAR 1 billion.
  • A Multinational Investment Fund - in relation to the acquisition of an industrial park valued in Gauteng, South Africa, as a going concern valued at ZAR 230 million.
  • BRS Golf, a subsidiary of NBC Sports Next – in its acquisition of of Albatros Datenservice GmbH and Digital Golf Solutions SAS.
  • The Walt Disney Company – in connection with a consolidated feasibility report regarding the client’s intention to extend the roll-out of their mobile and web application offering in various African jurisdictions.
  • Anglo American’s BEE affiliate - in relation to the disposal by Anglo American of the disposal of various coal mines, with a composite transaction to the value of just over ZAR 1.5 billion.
  • Public Investment Corporation (on behalf of the Government Employees Pension Fund) - in relation to its equity investment in the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) for approximately USD 100 million.
