Dóra Petrányi is a partner, dual-based in the UK and Central and Eastern Europe, with a market-leading practice at the intersection of technology, regulation and strategic business transformation. She is the Global Practice Group Leader for Technology, Media, IP and Competition (TMIC) and Co-Head of the CMS Global Technology, Media & Communications Sector Group.
She advises many of the world’s leading technology and regulated-sector businesses, as well as major pharmaceutical companies, foreign-owned commercial banks and prominent joint ventures. Dóra is the relationship partner for a major US hyperscaler, advising on strategically significant matters across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
Her core focus is on complex TMT and digital regulatory work, with deep expertise in AI, digital infrastructure, cloud ecosystems, cybersecurity, data protection and GDPR, competition law, intellectual property, commercial contracts, restructuring and M&A. She is particularly valued for combining first-rate legal expertise with strategic judgment, helping clients manage risk and unlock opportunities in fast-evolving and highly regulated markets.
Dóra also established and leads CMS’s managed legal services delivery centre in Hungary. As part of this initiative, she has built and led a multi-jurisdictional team including UK, German, Spanish, US and PRC lawyers, supporting international companies on a global scale in the management of contracts, procurement and data privacy matters.
She served as CMS CEE Managing Director from 2016 to 2026. Dóra is a member of the International Board of the Global Telecom Women’s Network (GTWN).
She frequently writes and speaks on cutting-edge legal and business issues affecting the technology sector and is a regular speaker at leading international forums, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Mobile World Congress and ECTA.
