At our head office in Vienna, we have pulled many levers to improve our environmental balance sheet and become the first law firm in Austria to receive the OekoBusiness Vienna award.
To name just a few examples: We have improved our waste management through an extensive recycling programme. We rely on sustainable and reusable raw materials, and in we have increased the share of organic and Fairtrade foods and beverages. Thanks to the “job ticket” (an annual public transport pass) for all our employees, we have been able to achieve significant CO2 savings. Digitalisation of our communication and archives has led to enormous amounts of photocopy paper being saved.
These and many other measures have already significantly reduced our ecological footprint. But we are not complacent: our goal is to take further steps in this direction into the future.
Our priorities for 2021 and 2022 included further reducing energy consumption in office activities and climate control, further reducing office demand and office waste, expanding the use of video and telephone conferencing to reduce our business travel footprint after Corona, as well as continuing to promote sustainable mobility within Vienna.
Successfully completing the City of Vienna OekoBusiness programme is a useful incentive helping us develop our waste, energy, and resource management. For details on the goals we have already achieved as well as our new ones, please refer to our Environmental Report 2020.
