The transaction marks the fund’s entry into the Austrian market and strengthens the international positioning of the domestic life sciences ecosystem
CMS provided comprehensive legal advice to the German life sciences and healthcare fund heal.capital on its participation in the seed funding round for the Viennese precision medicine company aitiologic. heal.capital and Ananda Impact Ventures jointly acted as lead investors in the funding round, which totalled EUR 6.4 million. For heal.capital, this was also the fund’s first investment in Austria.
Aitiologic develops AI-powered liquid biopsy and multi-omics solutions for the early detection of diseases and to support targeted therapies. The first application focuses on the early risk assessment of pre-eclampsia during pregnancy.
CMS advised heal.capital throughout the entire transaction process, including legal due diligence, the review of intellectual property issues, the negotiation of transaction documentation, and support right through to signing and closing.
