A CMS team in Vienna advised PÜSPÖK, a leading Austrian family-owned company in the renewable energy sector, on the acquisition of the EIA approved Bärofen wind power project in Lavanttal from ECOwind.

We are pleased to be involved in this important phase of PÜSPÖK's development. The acquisition of  the Bärofen wind power project is an important step towards a sustainable energy future for Carinthia and Austria

said Günther Hanslik, managing partner and attorney-at-law for banking and finance at
CMS. Christoph Birner, attorney-at-law at CMS and member of the advisory team, adds:

The cooperation with  PÜSPÖK and ECOwind was extremely productive. We are proud that we were able to contribute to such a forward-looking project with our expertise in structuring and negotiating the project. The Bärofen wind farm will play an important role in the sustainable energy supply of the region.

The Bärofen wind farm, which is located on the Koralpe in the municipality of Frantschach-St. Gertraud, will not only contribute to the generation of clean energy, but also strengthen the regional infrastructure.

Günther Hanslik (Partner, Corporate/M&A, Banking & Finance), who led the transaction, was supported by Christoph Birner (Attorney-at-Law, Corporate/M&A, Banking & Finance) and Anna Hiegelsperger (Associate, Corporate/M&A).
