Jia Schulz-Cao is an attorney-at-law in the Intellectual Property Team, which he has been a member of since 2012. In this context, he advises international and national clients, especially those from the life sciences, agroscience, consumer and luxury goods, food, media, and telecommunications sectors.

After studying law at the Universities of Vienna and Sheffield, Great Britain, he was a Senior Visiting Scholar at Tsinghua University’s School of Law in Beijing, China. Jia Schulz-Cao then worked as a trainee lawyer at the European Patent Office in Munich, Germany, in the Department for European and International Legal Affairs.  

Jia Schulz-Cao has extensive knowledge of Chinese intellectual property law and holds a PhD in Chinese trademark law. He is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and therefore regularly deals with China related matters and clients.

Jia Schulz-Cao regularly publishes in professional journals and delivers lectures on intellectual property with a particular focus on China.
