Jia Schulz-Cao is a lawyer (senior associate) specialising in Intellectual Property, Life Sciences & Healthcare and Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMC). His work focuses on enforcement of cross-border IP infringements as well as licensing and transfer of IP rights. Furthermore, his expertise includes strategic advice in connection with all intellectual property rights and in unfair competition. Besides, he regularly advises on commercial law aspects.
He represents international and national clients, particularly from the life sciences, agroscience, consumer and luxury goods, food, media and telecommunications sectors.
After studying law at the University of Vienna and the University of Sheffield, UK, Jia Schulz-Cao was a Senior Visiting Scholar at Tsinghua University’s Law School in Beijing. Subsequently, he worked as a trainee lawyer at the European Patent Office in Munich in the department of European and international legal affairs.
Jia Schulz-Cao has extensive knowledge of Chinese intellectual property law and completed a doctorate in Chinese trademark law. In addition, he is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and is therefore regularly entrusted with China-related matters.
