CMS advises AccorHotels in Germany on hotel transaction
Berlin – AccorHotels has sold a portfolio of 85 hotels in Europe. The sale price for the economy to midscale properties was around EUR 504 million. The transaction also included a substantial portfolio purchase from the Invesco Group.
Grape Hospitality, a newly established hotel platform owned by Eurazeo with a 70 per cent stake and AccorHotels with a 30 per cent stake, is acquiring all the hotels and associated businesses and will operate them under a franchise agreement, retaining the existing Accor brands. The portfolio consists of hotels located in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
A team headed by lead partner Dr Gerd Leutner advised AccorHotels in Germany on the acquisition of two hotel holding companies from Invesco and also on the sale of one of them to Grape Hospitality.
In addition to the German hotels, CMS also provided advice on the sale of the portfolio properties and businesses located in Belgium and the Netherlands.
