Munich - The Munich-based high-tech company DeepDrive has entered a strategic partnership with Continental. In the first step, both companies plan to jointly develop an efficient wheel hub e-motor including an integrated hydraulic brake. The unit will be mounted directly on the wheel of the vehicle. With the help of the combined drive-brake unit, the market penetration of electromobility will be advanced. DeepDrive plans to bring the first large-scale production of the wheel hub solution to market in the next few years together with Continental.
A CMS team headed by Dr Andreas Heim provided DeepDrive with legal advice on entering into the strategic partnership. The contact to DeepDrive originated from CMS partner Stefan-Ulrich Müller, who had advised one of DeepDrive's investors on his investment in the company.
DeepDrive develops efficient electric motors with a longer range for electric vehicles. DeepDrive's patented double rotor technology increases the range of vehicles by up to 20 percent. At the same time, costs are reduced and resources are saved.
