CMS advises e-health startup DIPAT on financing round

11/04/2017

Leipzig – DIPAT Die Patientenverfügung GmbH (DIPAT) has successfully raised growth capital as part of a round of financing. The investors are Technologiegründungsfonds Sachsen Basic (TGFS) and the Hanover-based Madsack Media Group. Both took a minority stake in the startup, which offers an online service for living wills and emergency data.

A CMS team headed by Dr Juliane Voigtmann advised DIPAT on all legal aspects of the venture capital financing. CMS and DIPAT were already known to each other: as exclusive partner for legal issues, CMS provides support for founder teams in SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator. Its services include workshops and tailored legal advice solutions for startups. DIPAT is a startup in SpinLab’s fourth class.

DIPAT has its head office in Leipzig. The startup has been offering a complete digital service for living wills and emergency medical data since early 2016. The emergency data covers medical treatment wishes, enduring power of attorney in health matters, organ donation instructions, contact details for next of kin, information on pre-existing conditions and medication. The service includes continuous updating of all documents, their online availability for doctors at any time and notification of contacts in an emergency.
