Stefan Schreiber is a competition, trademark and copyright law expert, providing litigation and advisory services (including expert opinions). His work often concerns e-commerce matters and he specialises in sports law with a focus on football. He advises companies on their advertising campaigns and websites as well as on the labelling and authorisation of chemicals or the product compliance of toys. Stefan’s practice also covers IT law, with a focus on software development and licensing as well as SaaS (software as a service) agreements. His clients include listed and medium-sized companies but also start-ups and public authorities. Stefan provides legal advice within the CMS equIP programme.

Stefan joined CMS in 2013.

Relevant experience

International project management of IP due diligence (planned acquisition of a company owning global trademarks and domains), involving the IP teams of CMS in the UK, France, Italy and Spain
Representation of an internationally operating internet platform provider regarding the claim to refrain from violating personality rights in the context of liability for interference of the host provider for comments left on the platform by anonymous third parties
Advising a professional football club on various sports law matters, including the strategic positioning in the context of the UEFA Financial Fair Play and licensing regulations, contract negotiations for a transfer deal and sponsoring agreements
Advising SüdBG on the takeover of EPSa-Elektronik and Präzisionsbau Saalfeld GmbH
Advising Schlemmer Holding (automotive supplier) on the launch of the group’s global website and own internet portal for job applications, including the project management and coordination of CMS teams in Brazil, Morocco and Romania as well as World Law Group partner firms in the USA and Singapore
