CMS advises Everfield on the acquisition of Danish POS specialist OnlinePOS
Frankfurt am Main – Everfield UK Limited, a long-term investor and growth accelerator for European B2B software companies, has acquired 100 % of the shares in the Danish company OnlinePOS from Payment Group A/S. OnlinePOS is Denmark's leading provider of point-of-sale (POS) solutions for the hospitality and event industry.
A CMS team and a Bech-Bruun team led by the CMS partner Dr Florian Plagemann and the Bech-Bruun partner Anders Hagstrøm provided comprehensive legal advice to CMS's long-standing client Everfield on the transaction. As in previous deals, modern legal tech tools that use artificial intelligence were used, which significantly increased the efficiency and speed of implementation – supported by CMS's cross-departmental in-house special unit, Smart Operations.
OnlinePOS was founded in 2008 and has developed into one of Denmark's leading POS platforms for the food service industry. The company offers a modular cash register system that combines classic functions with features such as QR self-service ordering, table management, inventory management and takeaway solutions – complemented by over 30 integrations with third-party software. By joining the Everfield ecosystem, OnlinePOS, which has around 70 employees in Randers (headquarters), Copenhagen and Oslo, aims to expand its presence in the Nordic region and utilise the combined expertise and support of Everfield's growing group of vertical software companies.
With this acquisition, the thirtieth in Europe and the first in Denmark, Everfield is strengthening its focus on vertical software for the hospitality industry and expanding its presence in the Nordics. Everfield pursues a decentralised model in which specialised software companies retain their identity and can build up their innovative strength and market presence in the food service and hospitality industries in a targeted manner through their inclusion in a growing network – including platforms such as Digifood, MatrixPOS, helloTESS! and KOST – to.
