Berlin – SAP SE and Signavio GmbH announced that SAP has entered into an agreement to acquire Signavio, a leader in the enterprise business process intelligence and process management space. Combining Signavio with the Business Process Intelligence unit of SAP will strengthen SAP's capacity to help companies quickly understand, improve, transform and manage their business processes at scale. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory approval.

A CMS team headed by Dr Jörg Zätzsch and Jesko Nobiling has advised the founders of Signavio on this transaction. The Berlin CMS team has a long-standing relationship with Signavio and has accompanied the company and the founders already in prior financing rounds. In 2019 Signavio gained, accompanied by CMS, Apax Digital as new lead investor and in 2015 CMS advised Signavio on a Series B financing round with Summit Partners. CMS regularly advises start-ups from an early stage on and covers the full life cycle from the establishment of start-ups, financing rounds and exits.

Founded in 2009, Signavio GmbH is headquartered in Berlin and has offices in eleven locations worldwide. The company has around 470 employees and offers cloud-based software that helps more than 2.000 businesses worldwide to efficiently design, implement and manage complex processes, decisions and workflows.

SAP is a market leader in enterprise application software. The end-to-end suite of applications and services enables business and public customers across 25 industries globally.
