Stuttgart – The German Federal Cartel Office has cleared the acquisition of the industrial group Infun by the Mexican Grupo Industrial Saltillo (GIS). Infun manufactures iron-casting parts for the automotive industry. A CMS team led by partner, Dr Harald Kahlenberg, provided Grupo Industrial Saltillo with comprehensive legal advice on the German Federal Cartel Office merger control clearance. The Mexican Grupo Industrial Saltillo designs, manufactures and markets various products for the automotive industry and the consumer sector in Mexico and Europe. With around 7,500 employees, GIS generated turnover of around 11.3 billion pesos in the 2015 business year. Infun is a leading producer of metal parts and components for the automotive industry with its registered office in Sant Vincenç dels Horts, Barcelona, Spain. Infun's main customers are automobile manufacturers such as Ford, Renault, Fiat, GM, Daimler and Volvo.
