Stuttgart – Demeter, a major European private equity investor in the sustainability segment, has invested in Cuculus GmbH, a leader in the development of software solutions for critical infrastructure. Cuculus has received a total of EUR 7.5 million from Paris Fonds Vert and existing investors. Paris Fonds Vert is a growth capital fund for the ecological transition of large cities which is managed by Demeter and supported by the City of Paris.
A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Tobias Schneider advised Demeter on all legal aspects of the investment. CMS gained the French PE investor as a new client.
Demeter is a major European private equity investor in the sustainability segment. Its aim is to use investments to support the energy and ecological transition. The funds managed by Demeter invest between EUR 1 million and EUR 30 million to support companies in the sector at all stages of their development, from innovative start-ups, fast-growing SMEs and large enterprises to infrastructure projects. The investor has offices in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Grenoble, Metz, Madrid and Düsseldorf. Its 37 employees manage around EUR 1 billion and have made 170 investments since 2005.
