CMS advises US technology company Bruker on acquisition of PepSep

Frankfurt/Main – Bruker Corporation, a NASDAQ-listed US tech company in the analytical instrumentation sector, has acquired PepSep. The Danish company specialises in the production and sale of high-quality accessories for nano-LCMS applications, especially in proteomics. Proteomics relates to analysis of the proteins that are active in a cell under certain conditions. Therapeutic approaches based on protein analysis are thought to offer great potential for developing new active agents, e.g. to fight cancer or infections. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch and co-lead Dr Berrit Roth-Mingram MA advised Bruker Daltonics GmbH & Co. KG on all legal aspects of the transaction. CMS was supported on the Danish side by World Law Group law firm Bech-Bruun. Bruker Corporation is a longstanding CMS client and has been advised by CMS on several acquisitions and disposals in the past. A team led by Dr Hendrik Hirsch recently advised Bruker on acquiring a stake in PreOmics, a developer of automation and sample preparation tools and consumables for proteomics analysis by mass spectrometry.
