Düsseldorf – The management company of CHIRON-Werke GmbH has acquired 75.1% of the shares in Scherer Feinbau GmbH, which is headquartered in the Lower Franconian town of Mömbris. The deal is effective from 1 October 2012. The previous sole shareholder, Frank Scherer, retains 24.9% of the shares and continues to serve the company as managing director. Volker Göddertz has been appointed as an additional managing director. He was previously responsible for procurement and logistics at CHIRON in Tuttlingen. The purchase price was not disclosed.
A team led by lead partner Dr Jürgen Frodermann and Dr Sebastian Becker advised CHIRON on all aspects of the transaction.
Scherer Feinbau GmbH, with its track record as a manufacturer of vertical lathes, provides the CHIRON Group with additional expertise in production solutions for lathing. Since the sector and business segments in which the companies operate are similar, synergies can be expected in international marketing and service as well as in manufacturing.
