CMS Hasche Sigle advises Heraeus on purchase of Clevios division from H.C. Starck

03/09/2010

Frankfurt/Main – Heraeus has signed an agreement with H.C. Starck to acquire its Clevios division by way of a combined share and asset deal. The division, with assets in Germany, the USA, Thailand and Japan, produces and markets liquid polymer chemicals under the Clevios brand. The highly conductive nature of the products makes them suitable for a wide range of applications, principally in the electronics industry.

A multi-location team led by partner Dr Hubertus Kolster and Katharina Reuther advised Heraeus on the legal aspects of the transaction.

Heraeus is a global precious metal and technology group headquartered in Hanau. With around 12,300 employees across more than 110 companies, Heraeus generated product sales of EUR 2.6 billion and a precious metal trading volume of EUR 13.6 billion in 2009. This acquisition expands Heraeus' portfolio of materials and technologies.

H.C. Starck is a world-leading supplier of refractory metals and advanced ceramics.
