Frankfurt – The shareholders of the Völker Group have signed a purchase agreement with Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc. for the sale of the company.
A team led by lead partners Dr Martin Bell and Katja Pohl advised the Völker Group on all aspects of this cross-border transaction.
The Völker Group is a leading manufacturer of high-quality beds for hospitals and elderly care. Established in 1912, the family-owned Völker company has its headquarters and largest production site in Witten (North Rhine-Westphalia), another production plant in Hainichen (Saxony) and five sales offices outside Germany. The company has almost 400 employees and will generate sales of more than EUR 80 million in the current financial year.
Hill-Rom is a leading worldwide provider of equipment and services for hospitals and institutional care. The company is headquartered in Batesville (Indiana/USA) and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities, which is expected in the first quarter of 2012.
