The Hamburg publishing-house family Voigt and Nord/LB Bank have sold all their shares in the
Braunschweiger Zeitung to the WAZ Media Group.
Hitherto the Voigt family held an interest of nearly 75 % in the Braunschweiger Zeitung.
The remaining 25 % were held by Nord/LB Bank. In summer 2006 the shareholders initially decided to
sell 49 % of the shares in the Braunschweiger Zeitung. The Voigt family requested a put option for
the remaining 51 %. A bidding procedure started in September 2006.
In the end the Voigt family decided to sell the whole of their 75 % holding to the WAZ Media
Group at once. Thus the WAZ Media Group purchased all shares. Execution of the contract is subject
to the condition precedent of consent by the Federal Cartel Office.
