Munich – Jörg Schrade is joining CMS as a partner at the start of October 2018, moving from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. He brings to CMS extensive experience of advising international corporations and private equity investors on matters relating to national and international tax law. His main focus is on restructuring, cross-border operations, tax inspections, tax disputes and corporate acquisitions/disposals. Jörg Schrade will operate out of the CMS Munich office as part of the Tax division.

“We are delighted that Jörg Schrade is strengthening our Tax practice,” said Dr Heino Büsching, head of the Tax division at CMS Germany. “With his extensive experience in transactional tax advice and outstanding knowledge acquired at a top international group, he will make an important contribution to the firm’s strategic expansion of its fast-growing tax activities,” the head of the division added.

Jörg Schrade began his career at Linklaters. In 2013, he moved to the group tax department at Siemens, where he worked on strategic tax planning and post-closing advice. Jörg Schrade has been with international commercial law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy since 2016, where he advised both private equity investors such as Advent, Ardian and Carlyle and major companies, including ProSiebenSat.1, Otto and H.C. Starck.

The experienced team of lawyers and tax advisers in the CMS Tax division supports clients in all tax matters. As part of an international commercial law firm, its specialists can provide legal and tax advice from a single source. The global CMS network comprising over 70 offices in more than 40 countries also guarantees seamless cross-border collaboration on international tax issues.
