Kirsten Baubkus-Gérard advises international corporate groups as well as German medium-sized companies on European and German competition law and represents them before the European Commission, the Federal Cartel Office as well as German and EU courts, with a focus on merger control and abuse control proceedings. She has special know-how in the telecommunications and IT sector and also advises on general EU law.

Kirsten Baubkus-Gérard started her legal career at CMS in 2012 and joined the European Commission in 2016 where she spent three years as a case handler at the Directorate-General for Competition’s merger control unit (IT, telecoms, media) and two years as a legal officer in the enforcement unit of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. She re-joined CMS in 2023.
