CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre co-opts five new partners

CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre announces the appointment of five new partners, including Alexandre Bastos (Restructuring – Insolvency), Jean-Fabrice Brun (Litigation & Arbitration), Olivier Kuhn (Litigation & Arbitration), Alexandra Rohmert (Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions) and Anne-Sophie Rostaing (Tax).

The firm now has 104 partners out of a total of 380 lawyers.

Alexandre Bastos (Restructuring – Insolvency) joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in 1999 after gaining initial experience in the finance department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. He works on all cases involved in addressing corporate difficulties (amicable proceedings, financial and industrial restructuring, insolvency proceedings and related disputes).

A graduate of ESSEC business school, he also holds a DJCE (corporate law degree)/Master’s in business and tax law from the University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas. He was awarded the Freshfields - Les Echos award in 1998.

Jean-Fabrice Brun (Litigation & Arbitration) joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in 2004. Joint manager of the Litigation & Arbitration department, he works on litigation and arbitration proceedings in business law and business criminal law.

A graduate of ESSEC (2004) and the business law institute at the University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas (Major) (2000), he holds a DESS (French post-graduate diploma) in business law/DJCE from the University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas (2001).

Olivier Kuhn (Litigation & Arbitration) joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in 2003. Co-head of the Litigation & Arbitration department, he works on all types of litigations in business law and business criminal law.

He holds a DESS in business law from the University of Paris V Malakoff (2001) and a DEA (Master’s) in criminal law and criminal science from the University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas (2000).

Alexandra Rohmert (Corporate M&A) joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in 2000.
After almost four years working at Clifford Chance, first in Francfort, for two years, and then in Paris, she joined Archibald Andersen in 1997.

She represents corporations, essentially non-French entities, in their international projects and has extensive expertise in cross-border M&A and in Franco-German transactions.

Qualified as French and German lawyer (avocat and Rechstanwältin), she also graduated in international business law with a DESS at the Paris X University (1990).

Anne-Sophie Rostaing (Tax) joined CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in 2002.

She covers all general questions relating to corporate taxation (daily assistance to French and international groups concerning direct taxation, acquisition and restructuring operations, tax inspections and tax litigation) and taxation of directors.

More specifically, she handles taxation issues relating to groups of companies and real-estate taxation (SIICs, REITs and SCPIs), and has assisted in numerous M&A and restructuring operations in recent years, particularly cross-border transactions.

A graduate of HEC business school (2001, Dean's List), she also holds a DESS in business law and taxation from the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne (2001).
