CMS Francis Lefebvre Maroc, a long-standing subsidiary of CMS Francis Lefebvre, is advising CMA CGM on the conclusion of a partnership agreement to set up a joint venture with Marsa Maroc for the operation of the West Container Terminal at the port of Nador West Med, a strategic port on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco.
Gradually becoming operational from 2027, the terminal will offer an annual capacity of 1.8 million TEUs and will become a major transshipment hub in the Mediterranean, supporting the integration of Morocco into the world's major shipping routes.
The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
The CMS Francis Lefebvre Maroc team involved on the transaction was composed of Johan Bruneau, Head of the Business Law – M&A department, and Mohamed Karfalla, Associate, on M&A aspects, Rachid Mejdoubi, Head of the Tax department, on tax law aspects, and Rachida Charifi, Head of the Corporate department, on corporate law aspects.
