Press contacts
CMS has made up 49 new partners in 2019, marking the firm's largest-ever round of global partner promotions. The new partners span 23 cities across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, and sit across a wide range of practice and sector groups. In the UK alone, 21 new partners have been appointed, with promotions spread across seven UK offices.
Progressing female talent has long been a strategic priority of the firm. In a strong showing this year, women account for 76% of all CMS promotions in the UK, and 47% globally.
Penelope Warne, The Senior Partner of CMS UK, comments:
"It is great to see such a strong representation of women in this year’s partner promotions. We strive to build an inclusive and progressive culture, underpinned by policies, training and support, that empowers our people to rise through the ranks. The significant number of promotions this year highlights the strength and depth of talent we have across the firm, and reflects the confidence we have in our business. We would like to congratulate our new partners on their well-deserved promotions.”
CMS Executive Chairman Cornelius Brandi says:
“The law firm of the future will be different to the one today. Then, as now, people will always be the most important factor. Clients trust experts who can provide them with business-focused legal advice they can act on. All our newly-appointed partners have a deep understanding of the sectors and business environments our clients operate in and can provide them with the support they need to deal with existing and future challenges.”
