European Patent Office News - EPO’s appeal system provides independent and effective judicial relief

The Second Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court has rejected as inadmissible several constitutional appeals by which the appellants challenged decisions of the Technical Boards of Appeal and the Enlarged Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office. The Court has confirmed that the EPO’s appeal system provides independent and effective judicial relief, as required by the German constitution for courts of international organisations.
