Márton is an Associate in the Antitrust, Competition and Trade team at CMS Budapest.

He graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Law at ELTE in 2021. Before joining CMS first as an intern then as a lawyer, Márton also interned at the Budapest-Capital Regional Court and Constitutional Court of Hungary.

At CMS, Márton participates in cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, domestic and cross-border mergers as well as consumer protection proceedings. He also assists clients with legal advice on a wide range of competition law-related issues. In addition to his expertise in competition and consumer protection law, he also has a keen interest constitutional law issues.

Relevant experience

Magyar RTL Television (Bertelsmann Group subsidiary) on a banned merger case and related claims, through various court appeals to the final instance before the Constitutional Court of Hungary.
Microsoft on a consumer protection investigation into the new AI-powered Bing Chat/Copilot, including the formulation of complex commitment package centred around AI developments in the Hungarian language.
A leading beverage manufacturer on an HCA investigation, where the HCA started looking into how domestic restaurants and catering units buy drinks.
A leading media company in Hungary on preparing a competition law assessment regarding broadcasting the largest European football championship organised by UEFA.
A multinational retail chain on a competition investigation into resale price maintenance, including assistance during a dawn raid by the HCA.
Viagogo in competition control proceedings initiated by the HCA for unfair commercial practices, and in the following court proceedings and subsequent Constitutional Court procedure.
AmRest in competition control proceedings initiated by the HCA under the new rules of the Commercial Act, including the subsequent court challenge and referral to the Constitutional Court that resulting in the annulment of the underlying legislation.
Bayer on competition law matters, including rebate schemes.
