Zsolt Zsurzsa is an associate in the Corporate/M&A team at CMS Budapest.

In 2020, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Szeged, and in parallel with his undergraduate studies, he completed the American Legal Expertise Course at the University of Toledo (OH, USA) and the University of Szeged, which resulted in a degree in English Legal Translation. He was admitted to the Budapest Bar Association in 2024.

Zsolt has experience in corporate law in M&A transactions, management of day-to-day corporate maintenance matters, proceedings before the Court of Registration in judicial supervisory proceedings, FDI control proceedings before the competent ministry and in the preparation of various memoranda on complex corporate law issues. Before becoming an associate, he also gained an insight into commercial, real estate and litigation matters.

Relevant experience

  • Louise Dreyfus Company Suisse S.A. - on the acquisition of Viterra's former grains and oilseeds businesses in Hungary and Poland from Bunge. The transaction involved the direct acquisition of seven subsidiaries and was a result of a European Commission-mandated divestment following the Bunge and Viterra merger. The mandate included supporting LDC through a competitive bidding process to emerge as the successful purchaser of the divested assets.
  • LISI Automotive - on the acquisition of the plastic injection moulding business and assets of Polysemble Hungary Kft., a specialist in precision-engineered solutions. The mandate included the preparation, negotiation, and finalisation of the asset transfer agreement, alongside the legal establishment of a Hungarian subsidiary to act as the purchasing entity. Further support was provided regarding regulatory analysis and the successful closing of the transaction.
  • A leading developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy projects - on the potential sale of a 75 MWac/100 MWdc solar PV portfolio located in Hungary,comprised of three (3) projects, that were under construction at the time. CMS provided comprehensive legal support, including transaction structuring and strategic guidance, to facilitate the potential divestment of this renewable energy portfolio.
  • Partner in Pet Food - on the successful acquisition of Kollmax Kft. by Partner in Pet Food (PPF), a portfolio company of the private equity firm Cinven. The transaction, executed through a share deal, involved a key supplier of animal food to international retail chains across Hungary and Italy. The mandate included leading the entire transaction process from inception to completion, supporting PPF’s strategic market expansion.
