CMS advises PPC Group on acquisition of Hungarian photovoltaic power plant and BESS development project
CMS has advised PPC Group on its acquisition of target companies owning a 57.47 MWp operational photovoltaic power plant and an optional co-located 49.1 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) development project in southern Hungary from Greenvolt Power Group sp. z o.o. and GREENVOLT International Power S.A.
The transaction marks PPC Group’s entry into the Hungarian renewable energy market and supports its broader strategic expansion across Central and Southeastern Europe. The operational solar plant benefits from a long-term revenue framework, while the optional BESS project is expected to enhance grid flexibility and support the further integration of renewable energy generation.
CMS provided comprehensive legal support throughout the transaction, including legal due diligence, transactional assistance, SPA and W&I insurance matters, as well as regulatory advice relating to foreign direct investment screening and merger control. The team also advised on the incorporation of the Hungarian acquisition vehicle established for the transaction.
The CMS team was led by Eszter Török and included Orsolya Pass and Zsolt Zsurzsa (Corporate); and Rebeka Erdősi (Energy).
