Hamburg, 30.10.2024 – Encavis AG, a leading independent electricity producer that acquires and operates (onshore) wind farms and solar parks in Europe, has entered into a non-recourse project financing arrangement worth a total of EUR 60.7 million for its Lindenhof (Borrentin) solar park. The Borrentin plant is located south of Demmin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and will generate 121 gigawatt hours of electricity per year once it has been commissioned, making an important contribution towards Germany’s energy transition. Its 114.2 megawatt capacity makes it the biggest solar park owned by Encavis AG in Germany.

Almost 74% of the annual electricity production from this project has been earmarked for a corporate consumer under a ten-year power purchase agreement. Finance is being provided in the form of loans from Bayerische Landesbank. The overall financing includes investment finance of EUR 46.8 million, a EUR 2.75 million value-added tax facility and a EUR 11.1 million guarantee credit line.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Kerstin Block advised Encavis on all legal aspects of the financing, including its structuring and implementation.
