ESMA: Building more effective and attractive capital markets in the EU

ESMA’s paper includes 20 recommendations intended to strengthen EU capital markets. These include: modernising the EU’s regulatory framework for financial services; reviewing financial regulation with a more holistic vision; implementing effective forbearance powers for ESMA and improving supervisory consistency amongst EU national authorities.
