ESMA has launched a call for evidence on the retail investor journey under MiFID II. It considers key retail market trends (including the appeal of speculative products to younger investors and finfluencers) and the practical application of MiFID II requirements in areas such as regulatory disclosures, assessment of suitability and appropriateness, and areas such as the investor experience under the European crowdfunding framework. ESMA has also published a summary document aimed at consumer organisations. Responses are required by 21 July 2025.
