ESMA: Draft guidelines for the assessment of knowledge and competence

ESMA has published this consultation on guidelines specifying criteria for the assessment of knowledge and competence of natural persons in investment firms that provide investment advice or information about financial instruments, investment services or ancillary services to clients and which proposes that national competent authorities or other appropriate bodies should determine a list of appropriate qualifications or criteria for the assessment of qualifications. Responses are required by 10 July 2015. ESMA intends to publish final guidelines in Q4 2015.
