CMS has advised Baillie Gifford, lead investor in the €100m investment round in Bending Spoons, a world-leading Italian start-up in the development and commercialization of applications for mobile devices with over half a billion users.
CMS has previously advised, in 2021 and then in 2022, TIM and TIM Ventures for investment rounds each of over EUR 100 million in Satispay, a fintech company, main player in the digital payment services sector, which in 2022 reached a billion-valuation becoming the second Italian unicorn.
With the Investment Round in Bending Spoons, CMS's role as legal advisor in late-stage venture capital deals involving the most successful Italian start-ups has been strengthened.
The team advising Baillie Gifford in all phases of the transaction is composed of partner Massimo Trentino, counsel Giulio Poggioli, associate Valerio Giuseppe Daniele and junior associates Arianna Toccaceli and Francesca Beatrice Durante.
