CMS advises Eni S.p.A. on joint venture with PETRONAS

CMS has advised Eni S.p.A. on a joint venture with PETRONAS. The transaction saw fourteen oil and gas interests in Indonesia and five in Malaysia contributed into the new joint entity.

This underscores the central role of natural gas in both companies' energy transition strategies and reflects their commitment to decarbonisation. The new company combines approximately 3bn barrel of oil equivalent (BOE) of reserves, with additional exploration potential of approximately 10bn BOE. In the first five years of the venture, there is a planned investment in excess of USD 15bn.
