Miguel Almeida e Costa is a Managing Associate in the Employment, Labour & Pensions team.

With more than 10 years of experience in labour and social security law, he assists a roster of domestic and international clients, in a range of sectors spanning financial services, aviation, retail, and industrial.

He advises clients on complex issues relating to pension funds and other employment law and Human Resources matters, being a key partner in the legal framework, management and definition of Human Resources strategies. His in-depth knowledge of labour law and clients´ activity allows him to solve challenges, presenting practical and value-added solutions.

Miguel is also a member of the staff restructuring team with experience handling negotiation processes, collective dismissals and redundancies. In recent years he has led restructuring processes in the banking sector and companies undergoing recovery or insolvency proceedings.

He also has recognised experience in labour litigation.

Miguel is recommended for Employment by Legal 500, 2025 and recognised for Labour and Employment Law by Best Lawyers for the past years.

Joined CMS Portugal in 2017.
