On 28 November 2024, the Council of Ministers approved the Decree-Law increasing the national minimum wage from EUR 820.00 (eight hundred and twenty euros) in 2024 to EUR 870.00 (eight hundred and seventy euros) in 2025.
This increase, which translates into a rise of around 6% compared to the national minimum wage set for 2024, shall take full effect on 1 January 2025.
Moreover, the amount of the Social Support Index (IAS), a reference for various social supports and also for calculating contributions in some situations, is also expected to increase from the current EUR 509.26 (five hundred and nine euros and twenty-six cents) to EUR 522.50 (five hundred and twenty-two euros and fifty cents).
