Tiago de Magalhães is a Senior Associate in the Employment, Labour & Pensions team and is part of the ESG Task Force.
With more than 10 years of experience, Tiago's main area of practice is advising all types of companies on their day-to-day labour and social security issues, and he also focuses on matters relating to the sustainability of companies.
Tiago also has extensive experience in providing legal advice on litigation to the Human Resources departments of the clients he coordinates, as well as on hiring under special regimes, such as teleworking, hiring foreign workers, domestic service and management positions.
He also has a great deal of know-how in advising companies wishing to start working in Portugal (including on social security matters), and is also recognized for his negotiating skills in terminating employment contracts, identifying improvements in working conditions and on issues related to the pay gap, inclusion and diversity, and the prevention of forced labour.
In addition to monitoring and coordinating disciplinary proceedings, legal actions arising from employment contracts, as well as individual and collective dismissals, Tiago provides training not only on an individual basis but also to groups of professionals in the Human Resources area.
Tiago is recommended for Employment by Legal 500, 2025. He is also recognised for Labour and Employment Law by Best Lawyers, 2025. He is Social Sustainable Officer since 2024.
