We are delighted to invite you to this year’s University of Pittsburgh Pre‑Moot (Pitt Consortium), where CMS, together with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), will host a distinguished panel discussion.
Under the title From clause to case: How parties choose arbitration rules, institutions, and seats in cross‑border disputes the panel will explore how dispute‑resolution clauses are crafted at the contract‑drafting stage — and how these early architectural choices shape jurisdiction, enforceability, and strategic considerations once a dispute arises.
Using this year’s Vis Moot Problem as a practical reference point, the discussion will examine in particular:
- Institutional choice as strategic design
- The seat as legal anchor
- Singapore as a seat – commercial and ISDS contexts
- Mediation, multi-tier clauses, and enforceability architecture
- From clause to jurisdictional contest
- Institutional and tribunal perspective
The session will also include a presentation by CMS experts, setting the scene from transactional and dispute-resolution perspectives.
We look forward to welcoming you in Vienna!
