CMS advises Rentokil Initial Group on the acquisition of Hydroplant

Rentokil Initial has acquired Zurich-based Hydroplant. The transaction was successfully completed on 31 March 2026. 

Hydroplant is a specialized provider of custom interior and exterior greening solutions, designing and implementing vertical and horizontal vegetation structures, building greening systems, and plant containers, with extensive expertise in design and architecture.

Rentokil Initial (publ.) is an international service group focusing on pest control, hygiene and on professional greening solutions. With the acquisition of Hydroplant, Rentokil Initial strengthens its professional greening division.

A team of CMS led by Dr Daniel Jenny (Partner) and Florian Jung (Senior Associate, both Corporate/M&A) advised Rentokil Initial on all legal aspects of the transaction, including a complex sale-leaseback of agricultural land subject to agricultural land law. The team also included Dr Alexander Salamon (Associate, Corporate/M&A), Dr Thomas Zweifel (Partner), Michelle Lindenmann (Associate, both Real Estate), Dr Miryam Meile (Senior Associate, Employment), Dirk Spacek (Partner) and Ursina Bopp (Paralegal, both IP).
