Frankfurt am Main – BIP IV SCSp fund, advised by BIP Capital Partners, has acquired a majority stake in WMD Service GmbH, based in Dortmund. The founders will retain a significant stake and remain in the company as managing shareholders. With BIP, WMD gains a partner with a long-term focus for the company's future development.
A CMS team led by Partner Dr Peter Polke provided BIP Capital Partners with legal and tax advice on all aspects of the transaction. CMS has been advising BIP on transactions for several years and, amongst other things, assisted the private equity investor with its exit from the recruitment firm pluss Personalmanagement.
BIP Capital Partners, based in Luxembourg, is an independent financial investor specialising in SMEs in the DACH region and the Benelux countries. They invest in companies in growth financing, business succession, buy-outs and significant minority stakes, and support management teams and shareholders in their further development.
WMD Service has established itself under the brand name WMD Alltagshelden, a nationwide provider of domestic assistance and everyday support services in accordance with the German Social Code. The company supports people who require temporary or long-term assistance with everyday tasks, due to illness, a need for care, pregnancy or other health-related limitations. As well as arranging suitable domestic help, WMD also handles key administrative processes relating to claims and settlements with health insurance companies, long-term care insurance providers and private accident insurance companies.
