CMS advises Kienzle Automotive on sale to Liberta Partners

Düsseldorf – Liberta Partners, a multi-family holding company, has acquired Kienzle Automotive GmbH in the course of a succession partnership via Liberta Partners Fund II. Kienzle Automotive is a leading provider of sales and services in the automotive aftermarket sector. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The deal was closed at the beginning of November.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Jürgen Frodermann and lead counsel Christopher Freiherr von Lilien-Waldau advised Kienzle Automotive GmbH on all legal aspects. The instruction covered the entire transaction as well as the structured bidding process to find a successor. CMS has been providing legal advice to the Kienzle Rheinapp Group and its associated companies for more than 20 years.

Kienzle Automotive GmbH has its headquarters in Mülheim an der Ruhr. It is a leading German provider of sales and services for networked devices and systems in the automotive aftermarket. Within Germany, the company has around 770 tied service partners and a total of more than 10,000 commercial customers.

Munich-based Liberta Partners is a multi-family holding founded in 2016. Liberta Partners invests in businesses in the German-speaking countries with clear operational and strategic development potential, especially in succession situations and involving spin-offs from larger groups.
