Stuttgart – With effect from 1 August 2011, private equity investor Findos Investor is acquiring Maier Sports GmbH & Co. KG of Köngen, near Stuttgart, together with its "Maier Sports" and "Gonso" brands. Maier Sports manufactures high-quality outdoor sport and ski clothing, while Gonso is the name behind premium bike sportswear. The purchase price was not disclosed.
A team led by lead partners Dr Udo Simmat and Dr Tobias Schneider advised managing partner Gerhard Maier on all aspects of the transaction.
Gerhard Maier will remain involved in the company as managing director during a transitional phase and, in the longer term, via a minority shareholding.
