Frankfurt/Main - The DC DruckChemie Group is being sold to the British industrial group Langley Holdings plc. Insolvency proceedings were opened in relation to DC's parent company in September 2014. The firm has its headquarters in the Baden-Württemberg town of Ammerbuch. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from Germany’s Federal Cartel Office, which is expected soon. No further details were disclosed.
An international team from CMS led by Dr Martin Bell and Dr Tobias Kilian advised the insolvency administrator, Dr Jan Markus Plathner, on all legal aspects of the sale through a bidding process. This was preceded by upstream “protective shield” proceedings prepared and supported by a CMS team led by Joachim Kühne on behalf of the DC DruckChemie Group.
DruckChemie develops, manufactures and supplies chemico-technical products and equipment for the graphical industry. It also provides product disposal services. With some 300 employees and branches in Europe and Brazil, the company is one of the leading suppliers in its sector. The Langley Holdings group has principal operating divisions in Germany, France and the UK and more than 70 subsidiaries worldwide, which employ over 4,000 people. Its product range includes machinery and technical equipment for sectors such as cement production, food packaging, car manufacturing and data centres. Langley entered the print sector in January 2012 with the acquisition of Manroland Sheetfed, a German press builder. The latest acquisition is intended to expand this line of business.
