Frankfurt/Main – AMETEK, a leading worldwide provider of electronic measuring instruments and electromechanical devices, has taken over the entire business of EGS Automatisierungstechnik GmbH.
A CMS team headed by Dr Heike Wagner and Dr Florian Plagemann provided AMETEK with legal advice on all relevant aspects of the transaction. CMS has advised AMETEK on multiple occasions.
AMETEK, Inc., based in Berwyn, US, is a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments as well as electromechanical devices and is listed on the S&P 500 Index at the New York Stock Exchange. With annualized sales of more than USD 5.2 billion (2019) the company employs roughly 18,000 employees around the world at more than 220 locations.
EGS Automatisierungstechnik GmbH, based in Donaueschingen, was founded in 1996 and is specialized in the area of automation and robotics. In 1999, EGS Automatisierungstechnik GmbH designed its first robot-based palletizing and loading system based on a Yaskawa robot. Today, the equipment is sold under the name SUMO Multiplex. In the meantime, EGS Automatisierungstechnik GmbH also installs robots from Kuka and Epson.
