Berlin – Private equity investor FLEX Capital has entered into a partnership with serial founders and lawyers Kathrin Schürmann and Simone Rosenthal. The partnership is aimed at creating a new regulatory technology group in the alternative legal services market. The platform’s first investment will be in e-learning company Lawpilots. Together with the founders of Lawpilots, FLEX Capital is set to invest in additional legal business models. Regtech (regulatory technology) seeks to enable businesses to implement and handle compliance procedures and regulatory processes more efficiently. FLEX Capital is allocating a budget of EUR 60 million for the partnership.
A CMS team led by Dr Jörg Zätzsch and Jesko Nobiling advised FLEX Capital on all legal and tax aspects of the transaction. PE investor FLEX Capital has relied on the expertise of the team headed by the two CMS partners for advice on investments and exits for many years.
