Berlin - CMS Hasche Sigle has been named "Law Firm of the Year for Banking and Finance" by JUVE, the industry magazine for commercial lawyers. Representatives of the firm were presented with the coveted award at a gala ceremony held in Frankfurt am Main. The prize winners are chosen on the basis of extensive editorial research carried out for the annual JUVE Handbook, among other criteria.

This year has seen us launch a range of projects, such as new functions for the business areas and a key account programme, while also advising on interesting instructions from our long-standing SME clients and increasingly also from international corporations," said managing partner Dr Hubertus Kolster. "Positive client feedback and this award are further impressive testimony to the firm's capabilities."
One of the reasons cited by the JUVE jury for recognising CMS Hasche Sigle as Law Firm of the Year for Banking and Finance is that the firm has achieved a major leap forward in areas such as regulatory law and advising investment funds. The legal support it provided for the establishment of a bank by engineering company Trumpf attracted the attention of the entire industry, for example. In selecting CMS Hasche Sigle, the jury also highlighted its successful work for foreign banks in M&A deals and when setting up branch offices. In addition to the long-standing success of the capital markets practice, the firm is now also making an impact in the field of bonds and structured finance, the jury added.
Partner Dr Markus Pfaff, one of the two section heads for Banking & Finance at CMS Hasche Sigle, shares the assessment: "The past year was a particularly innovative and successful one for us.
