Qvest Media gains new majority owner with CMS support

Düsseldorf – CMS has advised the shareholders in the Qvest Media Group on the sale of a majority stake to investment company RAG-Stiftung Beteiligungsgesellschaft. The equity interest covers all the companies in the Qvest Media Group in Germany, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore. Closing of the transaction is scheduled for the end of September 2016.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Jürgen Frodermann advised the Qvest Media Group shareholders on all legal aspects.

Cologne-based Qvest Media Group is a world-leading system architect for broadcasting and media technology, specialising in television, media and telecommunications. The company is currently involved in more than 60 technology projects. Qvest Media has operations in Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Dubai and Singapore. In addition to the ARD and ZDF networks, its clients include Sky and RTL.

As part of the long-term capital investment strategy of the RAG-Stiftung, the foundation's investment company, RAG-Stiftung Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, invests in companies that deliver sustainable success. A key objective of the investment company is to build up an industrial holding company managed on entrepreneurial principles and comprising innovative and high-growth investments. One of the duties of RAG-Stiftung is to accumulate foundation assets by 2018 which will be used from 2019 onwards to finance perpetual mine management obligations resulting from coal-mining operations.
