Real Estate Law, primarily tenancy law (including shopping centres) and the acquisition and sale of property (inter alia sale-and-lease-back agreements). Corporate law, primarily the law of private partnerships, limited liability companies and (charitable) foundations.

Attended school in Bonn (Germany), Berkeley (USA) and Brussels (Belgium) and received the European Baccalaureate from the European School I in Brussels-Uccle in 1994. A one-year studium generale at the Leibniz Kolleg in Tübingen was followed by a 10 month military service in a mixed unit of the Franco-German Brigade. Legal studies in Heidelberg and Berlin, completed with the first state law exam in Berlin in 2001. Afterwards research assistant at the Institute of Public International Law and European Law of the Humboldt University Berlin (Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Christian Tomuschat) Doctoral thesis on the UN administration auf crisis territories. Trainee (Referendar) with the Higher District Court (OLG) of Hamburg, including traineeship at the German Embassy to the United Nations in New York and with the corporate division of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Hamburg.

With CMS since January 2007 and principal counsel since 2023.
